TIME TRAVEL 28 is part one of the cine film taken by the Page family starting at Santa Pod in April 1970 including “Wild” Bill Weichelt’s Asmodeus dragster (pictured above) which got the Page brothers into drag racing as they crewed on the car, also Prospector II, Wild Honey, Hot Dog, Walt Ithell’s twin Thunderbird powered rear engined dragster, Gloworm Capri (pictured above) etc. etc..... Then on to the Big Go and Pete “Snoopy” Bennett’s Red Baron, Phil “Ziggy” Smith’s Opus, Hallucination, Blue Bottle etc. etc... also match racing between Gloworm and Commuter and the debut of Clive Skilton’s 2nd Revolution and Dennis Priddle’s Quartermaster. Next on to the Santa Pod Internationals including Hasse Fromme and his Capri Funny Car and then on to the first meeting to be held at Blackbushe since 1965 as the N.D.R.C. organise the Custom Car Trophy Dragfest. Then it’s back to Santa Pod in September where many of the racers were experimenting with bleach burnouts. Next we move on to Elvington and the World Records Meet where Asmodeus, Commuter, Tony Anderson’s Trouble and 2nd Revolution attempted to break some records. Clive Skilton tried too hard tipping the can to 85% and blowing his engine. Then it’s on to 1971 and the Page brother’s first car as they purchase the Hustler altered and rename it Panic trying it out at the Santa Pod season opener, then the Easter Springnationals as Priddle and Skilton battle it out in a best of three and finally on to Gosport including Panic, Stagecoach, Invader, Warden, Metronome, Saxon etc. etc... and three more smoky duels between Priddle and Skilton....
