the July Internationals featuring six slingshot Fuelers as Skilton and Priddle are joined by Allan Herridge in Commuter (pictured above) Tony Densham in Firefly, Bjorn Anderson from Sweden in Sub Sonic, and from South Africa Mad Arthur Christy in Hawaian III. Also Arnold Sundquist in his Jet, Itsaviva, Good Vibrations, Invader, Metronome, and Freddie Whittle running the first British 9 sec. run for an altered in Shutdown. Next on to the August Nationals including The Hillbillies (pictured above) High Fever, Opus I, Stagecoach, Dragonfly, Stripduster, and Dennis Priddle who wheeled out the Hot Wheels Fueler loaded with 80% nitro which meant 6 seconds or bust, unfortunately he bust putting two rods through the block but he was still smiling as he had the ‘71 championship title and now held the European record.....
